CHAIRMAN

 

 

Desmond Lim Bak Chuan is the leader of SDA. He is a Politician as well as Principal Engineer at one of Singapore's largest telecommunications company, M1 Limited.  He holds a Master's Degree in Engineering Management from the University of Wollongong. 

He believes in dedicated and caring leadership, and is currently grooming the members in his party to share the same values. Despite multiple setbacks in his political career, Desmond has never thought of giving up, because he possesses a strong sense of perseverance and determination - the factors that have helped him to succeed in his career.  He believes that a good Party should do what the people need and want (for better-ing their lives) and not merely dishing out promises that may not resonate.

MEMBERS

William Lim Chin Lian is a dedicated member of SDA. He is currently self-employed and is well-versed in the transportation industry. William holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economic & Finance from RMIT, as well as a Diploma in Electronics & Computer Engineering from Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

After his ten-year stint with the Singapore Armed Forces came to a contractual end, William went on to the sales industries where he did not find satisfaction in getting people to buy stuffs that would ultimately benefit himself more than the buyers themselves, and therefore decided to become self-employed in the services industry. This shows him to be a man of principle, sticking by his beliefs.

Despite not being hired by any financial institutions or banks despite his good degree, willingness to take a huge pay cut to learn the ropes and sending out countless resumes, William bounced back and is now more comfortable than he could ever be had he stayed in the finance industry.

When asked about his beliefs,

"I always believe that helping others, there should not be expectations of return from them as help should come from my own goodwill. Helping others is like a mission accomplished; giving myself great satisfaction is better than anything else."

Aloysius Chan Weili is a dedicated member of SDA. He is an entrepreneur with an extensive network of contacts. His current businesses are in the IT and Advertising industries, and the scope is still expanding whenever he spots a good business opportunity.

He also holds a Diploma in Engineering Informatics from Ngee Ann Polytechnic and a professional certification in Project Management Professional (PMP). He believes that he can change things, from negative to positive; and thereafter, from good to better. 

"Instead of joining the world to complain and comment without any action, I decided to put my foot forward and do something that actually matters!"

On the philanthropic front, Aloysius also participates in several charity organisations and activities to maximise his outreach to the needy.

SHADOW TOWN COUNCILLORS

The Shadow Town Councillors are a team of people currently being trained and groomed in preparation to be of service to the people when the opportunity arises.


 

 

Tan Jui Koon (Derrick) is a Shadow Town Councillor. Academics-wise, he is the holder of a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Economics from the University of London (International Program) and a Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering from Singapore Polytechnic. He is currently working as an Operations Manager and has extensive experience in manufacturing operations, management and business development both locally and overseas. He also has a Blog on trading, mainly about Forex, Indices and stocks etc.

 

He believes that everyone should be given equal opportunities in life, regardless of background, race or qualifications.  To quote him, "No one in life owes us anything; we are the masters of our own destiny and therefore responsible for our own well-being first and at all times."

 

"In a more political context, office holders such as Key Appointment Holders (KAHs) are servants to the people and should have the compassion, empathy and heart to serve for the better of its people and country. They should not be comparing and getting the kind of pay drawn by the highest-paid professionals in the private sectors while not taking responsibility of the failed policies set out or approved by them."

 

Lim Kim Soon was a manager of a large MNC firm; he also possesses a Master's Degree from the University of Leicester as well as Bachelor's Degree from Nanyang Technological University.  He believes in making a difference to Singaporeans' lives and freeing them from the control and suppression of any one ruling party.

 

"I know Desmond Lim very recently, but I do respect his fighting spirit and keenness to serve the public despite the failures of the elections. I trust that he would be a good politician of Singapore therefore I join the Shadow Town Councillor to serve unconditionally although I am not his party member. I believe that he should be a good option for Singaporeans."
